A Message from our President
Submitted By admin on Friday, March 13, 2020
To our Canadettes Family,

It is with great sadness that we have to inform you that the balance of the 2019/2020 season will be cancelled in its entirety.  We have been notified and mandated from Hockey Canada and the OWHA to suspend all activities for the safety of all involved; players, coaching staff, parents and spectators.

This means that there will be no on or off ice activities of any sort until further notice.  All Lower Lakes Playoff and OWHA Provincial Playdown games, practices, development sessions, along with our 53rd Annual Easter Tournament, have been cancelled.   As well, our end of season banquets, where we celebrate the achievements of our Rep and House League programs, have been postponed.   The decision has also resulted in our tryouts for next season being postponed until further notice.

After my discussion with the OWHA, it appears as though hockey will not resume until much later this year.  Once we hear when we’ve been cleared to resume again, we will be sure to post it on our website.  It is in these difficult times that our hockey families need to remain united as one.  Share your favourite stories, cherish the memories and the friendships you've made along the way.    I look forward to the day that we can strap on the blades and get back to playing the sport we all love.

Yours truly,

President Don Stoddart and the Board of the BCGHA
