Sweetheart Tournament Results
We sent six of our house league teams to the Sweetheart Tournament in Orangeville last weekend and they all performed very well.
Our Novice Sky Blue and Red squads entered their very first, full-ice tournament and each finished in the top four of the twelve teams competing. They each demonstrated great teamwork, positional play and sportsmanship, and showed off the skills they have been working very hard at all season. Congratulations girls, on a great effort!
Our Red team also won the Novice Skills competition, with four skaters competing in a relay race, plus a goalie and shooter in the shootout!
Our Atom teams competed well also, battling to the end, with both just missing out on the medal round with narrow losses in the elimination games.
Our Peewee teams ended up facing off against each other in the elimination round, with Sky Blue escaping to the bronze medal game after a hard-fought 2-1 victory. They were on the wrong end of the same score in the medal round, losing a close game to Walkerton to finish in fourth overall.
All in all, a great weekend was had by all teams as we enter playoff time! Congratulations to all the girls!!!
